Honda Vietnam having a new CEO from April 1st, 2014

From the 1st of April, Mr Masayuki Igrashi will resign his post as CEO of Honda Vietnam (HVN). His position will be filled in by another person.
 
Mr Masayuki Igarashi has been the CEO of Honda Vietnam for about 2 years (from April 1st, 2012 to March 30th, 2014). Normally, one term of duty for directors in Honda or other large automobile corporations in other countries usually last 3 years (Mr Koji Onishi – ex-CEO of HVN, had worked in a 5-year term).
 
As stated by Mr Masayuki Igarashi, he had to leave Vietnam to move to his new position – CEO of Honda Asia which was in charge of Honda motorcycle business in Asia and Australia. So, it was a big promotion for him just after a short time working as CEO of HVN.

Despite working in Vietnam for only 2 years, Mr Masayuki Igarashi has contributed greatly to HVN’s success. He has contributed to the improvement of the managing staff; expanded production, sales and distribution system; optimized sales and after-sales services.
 
During Mr Masayuki Igarashi’s term as CEO, HVN has built its third motorcycle producing factory in Ha Nam and also increased its market share in car sector from 2.2% in 2012 to 4.5% in 2013. Also during this period, HVN’s motorcycle export activities has seen an impressive growth. The total motorcycle export value of HVN in 2013 reached over 162 million, including 40.000 CBU units. Motorcycle models exported by HVN were mainly scooters with an average localization rate of 95%.

Mr Masayuki Igaarashi will resign his position of VAMM CEO in March 30th, 2014.
 
Besides, Mr Masayuki Igrashi has greatly contributed to the establishment of the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers (VAMM) and will serve as Chairman of the association to March the 30th, 2014.
As information suggested, Mr Minoru Kato – originally the Director of Honda motorcycles in Europe will replace Mr Masayuki Igarashi’s position as CEO of HVN.
