Renault Megane Hatchback makes its debut in Vietnam

Renault has just introduced the hatchback Megane to Vietnam market earlier today with a price of 980 million VND.

Considered to be Ford Focus 1.6L and Toyota Yaris 2014’s rival, Renault Megane got the upper hand in the France market and is now being CBU-imported into Vietnam from Turkey with multiple color choices: red, brown, beige, black, titanium grey, silver grey, dark blue, blue and white.

This version receives multiple changes, including new calandre emphasizing on details on the bonnet. Its headlamp cluster has a new and more characteristic design and is integrated with LED strip daylight. In general, its overall design looks more harmonious, youthful and modern.

The dominant tone in the interior is beige with beige leather-covered details on the steering wheel and seats. The car’s cabin is quite spacious as the rear seats can be folded in a 60/40 ratio with multiple storage spaces and a luggage space of 372 liters.

Megane is equipped with many advanced features such as Start/Stop button, smart key, car start without taking out the key, electronic sunroof, Bluetooth connection, hand-free call and dual-zone air conditioner with filter.

The entertainment system also sees an upgrade with Arkamys stereo system designed exclusively for Megane with well-rated quality. Drivers can connect their devices with the multimedia system as it is integrated with Audio/USB/AUX connection.

In addition, multiple driver assistance features are also available such as cruise control, speed limit, HID automatic headlight integrated with “see me home” feature, rear sensor… Megane’s safety features are also no joke with 6 airbags, ABS, EBA, EBD, ESP and 3-point seatbelt. Renault states that customers can also purchase seats for children at discounted price to ensure maximum safety for them.

Designed to operate in urban environment, Megane is quite compact with a length x width x height respectively at 4.295 x 1.808 x 1.471 mm, together with a 2.641 wheelbase and a 120mm ground clearance.

In term of power, Megane’s 1.6L 4-cylinder engine is capable of producing 120HP and 152Nm. The car can accelerate from 0 – 100km/h in 10.3 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 190km/h. The engine is accompanied by a CVT stepless automatic transmission with estimated fuel consumption at 6.6L/100km.

Sharing his thoughts on the company’s future plans, Renault representative states that the brand will strengthen its marketing in Vietnam while at the same time expanding its business. The new Megane is one part of the plan, further expanding Renault’s product list in Vietnam which has already included Fluence, Koleos, Latitude, Megane RS and Clio RS. The French automaker has put a lot of expectation into this hatchback.
