[VMS 2015] Toyota Vietnam to introduce Prius 2016

Only 1 month after being released in the U.S, the Prius 2016 has made its way to Vietnam at VMS this year thanks to the effort of TMV.

Prius is the first hybrid vehicle of Toyota which marks a new era of green transportation. After 18 years, Toyota Prius has reached its 4^th generation and along with it achieved numerous successes.

As of now, there are 9 million hybrid vehicles globally, 8 million among which come from Toyota and more than half of them are Prius.

The new Prius features impressively increased performance and environmental friendliness. Exterior design takes some clues from a Toyota hybrid concept – the FCV. Front fascia is now more appealing and dynamic thanks to new LED headlights and redesigned front bumper.

The raised rear end is still there along with the 2-level rear glass, the difference here comes from slimmer taillights.

The new Prius is the first Toyota model to officially employ the company’s new platform TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) and new, improved hybrid power system.

The result that we can see here is a sportier and emotional Prius. Interior is simple yet being able to meet every basic needs while at the same time features numerous advanced safety technologies. Driving dynamic is also improved. Prius can generate twice the normal electric power in emergency cases.

The most impressive capability of the new Prius is its fuel efficiency at 4,2L/100km – an improvement of 10% compared to its predecessor (4,7L/100km).

Currently, Toyota Vietnam has no plan to distribute Prius in Vietnam largely due to infrastructure obstacle. The appearance of the hybrid at VMS 2015 is more of a display than a practical choice.
