Ford Ranger continues to dominate pickup segment in May

For the first 5 months of 2016, Ford Ranger has been very consistent as it retained its usual 1st ranking in the market.

In May, Ranger again became the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam and sticked to its nickname “King of pickup” as 1.074 of its kind were sold. Moreover, combined sales of the 7 pickups ranking under Ranger we have a figure at 719, 25% lower than sales of Ranger alone.

In the North, sales volume of Ranger 4×4 and 4×2 have not much of a difference. However, those figures are so much in contrast in the south with sales of 4×4 Ranger nearly double that of 4×2 Ranger. This fact demonstrates that consumers in the South still prefer 4WD pickups to meet all terrain conditions. Additionally, with special tax for pickup at a more preferable level compared to sedan, many consumers in the North choose a pickup for themselves for daily routine.

The reasons behind Ranger’s success are very simple: Ford has integrated its best technologies and features on its little pickup and also provided it with a good-looking exterior, premium-feeling material on the inside and a powerful 3.2L engine block. Thanks to those, Ranger is now more of a “little F-Series”, featuring strong and aggressive stance and details.

Pricing is also an advantage of Ranger in Vietnam market. Starting price of Ranger is 616 million VND while the highest-level, most advanced version only costs its buyer 879 million VND – a very good price compared to the value it provides.
