Mercedes-Benz SUVenture in Vietnam: Day 1: From the mountains…

Following the spirit of “SUVenture” at the Mercedes-Benz Fascination, 2016, for 3 days (6-8 of July), Mercedes-Benz Vietnam has organized an extremely interesting for SUVs on the more challenging roads in Vietnam.

Something quite special in the journey to experience the Mercedes-Benz SUV for the first time was that the location is kept secret until the last minute in order to increase the attractiveness. Participants only knew the place of gathering –  JW Marriott Hotel beforehand.

8 a.m of July 6, the organizers announced the schedule of the Mercedes-Benz SUVenture and Lac village, Mai Chau, Hoa Binh will be the first stop. The participants were divided into 5 groups and were able to drive almost the full line of Mercedes-Benz SUVs including GLA, GLC, GLE, GLE Coupe. Unfortunately, the all-new GLS was nowhere to be found.

Not just an ordinary concert experience, the group will have to compete to achieve the highest score in the competition launched by the organizers, with the top prize being an offroad trip in Thailand.

Weather seemed to be not in favor at the start as it rained cats and dogs but the Mercedes-Benz SUV still departed as scheduled. The team made it to Thang Long Avenue but did not turn to highway 21 that ran straight to Yen Bai and Bai Dai and instead took the the provincial road 446 and Highway 6 entrances.

In this all the way, running through part of Bai Dai is considered the difficulty created for the Mercedes-Benz SUV when this road is much room for rock-paved the way, some place deep groove forming. Heavy rains from the past several days has caused deep concave sections become wetlands. The site is not flooded, the soil also makes blending a hard road surface is more slippery and easy to travel.

However, it seems not enough to make difficult the Mercedes-Benz SUV with a range of support features such as advanced Offroad electronic balance, 4MATIC 4WD, controlled slip … Meanwhile, Us Mercedes-Benz’s suspension shows advantages when entering Vietnam potholes and poor road surfaces on the provincial road 446. the ability to quickly extinguish the oscillations caused when the person sitting in the floating feeling.

Out to the Highway 6, the challenges that the Mercedes-Benz SUV encounter is Doc Cun. Cun slope no longer dangerous slope scare but still high enough to cause the vehicle to slowly uphill. For the Mercedes-Benz SUV, the slopes hardly any trouble. Automatic gearbox 9 level proved quite flexible when making the appropriate level for each terrain from flat to steep.

Took more than 5 hours break for lunch and moving, our convoy was present at the first stop – Mai Chau EcoLodge. Here, the organizers have also built partly laid out with little help form everyone can feel a clear way supports the modern features that Mercedes-Benz fitted on a completely new GLC .

The first day of the cruise ends with an outdoor dinner party between mountains place. Everyone is immersed in nature, enjoying the fragrant barbecue together and chat about the trip, which is not praised for the Mercedes-Benz SUV.
