Our journey through Vietnam with Shell Advance has come to the 4th day and our ultimate destination has become closer. The route on the 4th day was the one we expected the most, as the team had their chance to conquer the most famous pass in Vietnam: Hai Van Pass.
Having known in advance that it would be a long, arduous day, we took our motorbikes to a dealer for maintenance. Oil, petrol, front and rear brake, tire and the handlebars… were among the most important things to be checked to ensure a better, safer journey. Stood up against us was none other than the renowned Hai Van Pass.
The most famous pass in Vietnam is known for its difficulties to overcome: winding, dangerous turn, roads with a cliff on one side… which, in fact, motivated us bikers. However, as the roads here were also undergoing maintenance, they were not in optimal conditions and we couldn’t see the best of them.
After overcoming Hai Van Pass, we aimed at our next destination: Dong Hoi town, Quang Binh province. The extremely hot weather here was a severe test for us. Our engines, however, still operated smoothly thanks to Shell Advance AX7.
We took our rest as we reached Dong Hoi town. The journey tomorrow will take us to Vietnam’s other famous attractions such as the Ho Chi Minh trail or the Phong Nha – Ke Bang cave.
