Daimler Trucks was able to sell nearly 500.000 trucks in 2014. About 445.300 orders in the first 11 months of the year have resulted in a very successful year for the brand.
One of the main reasons behind Daimler’s success was its total cost of ownership (TCO) – considered an important parameter in selecting a truck. Daimler Trucks was able to help owners recover their spending as quickly as possible.
Daimler Trucks officially participated in the Vietnam market with the introduction of the FUSO truck brand in 2014 October. Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV) is the exclusive importer, manufacturer and distributor of FUSO truck in Vietnam.
FUSO applies the advantages of the “3 powers”: Japan technologies, Germany management system and Vietnam operation system. In addition, the 2 new truck production lines at MBV’s new plant were able to assemble the light truck Canter and the medium truck Fighter. In the first year of managing FUSO after the transfer of the truck brand from VinaStar, MBV has immediately caught up and brought FUSO’s wholesale sales to 778 units – 2.2% up compared to 2013.
Daimler Trucks achieved success not only in Vietnam but also in North America with a 37.3% market share and a record sale of 147.200 units sold in the first 11 months of the year.
Also during that period, 39.000 Daimler trucks have been sold in Japan, achieving a 16% growth compared to 2013. Another 9.700 Daimler trucks were sold in India, 61% up compared to 2013. In Indonesia, Daimler Trucks’ market share accounted for 46.7% of the total market share.
These figures have clearly demonstrated Daimler Trucks’ continuous growth. In 2015, the brand will continue to expand its market and confirm its position as a leading manufacturer of commercial in the world.
