[VMS 2015] RX350 2016: Highlight of Lexus VN’s booth

RX is still the most popular Lexus’ nameplate in Vietnam for now. Thus, the appearance of the new RX350 2016 has brought numerous visitors to the Japanese brand’s booth at VMS this year.

Lexus RX350 2016 is the 4^th generation of RX which was just introduced at New York Auto Show 2015 this April. The model has been available on the U.S market for only 2 months. The fact that Lexus Vietnam is able to bring the new SUV to the Vietnam Motor Show by now demonstrates that Vietnam is becoming one of Lexus’ global key markets.

Many opinions consider the new RX350 to be a “larger NX200t”

RX350 2016 features redesigned language with more rigid exterior compared to its predecessor. Its front fascia is quite similar to that of NX200t, especially the L-shaped LED headlights. The only notable difference is the LED DRLs, which is connected to headlights (NX200t features separate headlights and DRLs).

The new, more aggressive spindle grille features chrome surrounding. Black C-pillar resulted in “floating roof” – a new feature on RX350 and is also a trend recently. The taillights at the back are also much more appealing compared to old RX350 versions. Symmetrical chrome-plated dual exhaust coupled with fake metal diffuser resulted in a sportier style.

RX350 2016 features an all-new cockpit thanks to high-quality material and carefully done stitches. Buttons are arranged to be more accessible to driver. The 12.3 inch screen is put higher away from center console while the gearshift remains at its usual position. Rear seats can be folded similar to that on NX.

With a longer wheelbase (2.791mm – 50,8mm longer), RX350 is now much more spacious for occupants. Dual zone automatic climate control, panorama sunroof and Start/Stop are among the SUV’s numerous standard features.

RX350 2016 employs an all-new V6 3.5L engine with max power at 224kW (300hp) accompanied by an 8-speed AT (instead of the old 6-speed AT) and 4-wheel drive.

RX350 2016 is still a display model in Vietnam. Lexus Vietnam stated that they will release the SUV in a near future at an undisclosed price.
