The new Ford Everest about to be available in Vietnam

On the 25th of July, 2015 in Chiang Rai, Thailand, Ford has officially introduced the new version of its key SUV: Everest. Equipped with a series of technologies never seen before in the SUV segment while at the same time featured a polished exterior/interior, Everest promised to set a new standard for the segment… According to Ford Vietnam, the new Everest will be available in early 2016 and will be a revolutionary model in Vietnam auto market.

At the beginning of the press conference for Everest’s launch, Mr. Trevor Worthington, Vice President in Product Development of Ford Asia – Pacific stated “the all new Ford Everest will be a SUV that perfectly combines utility and flexibility to meet every individual needs, whether in crowded traffic in urban areas or on the most rugged terrain in the world. The unique combination between powerful performances with unsurpassed comfort of the next generation Everest will exceed every customer’s expectations of a 7-seater car…”

The new Everest features a boxy, modern design combined with impressive performance and advanced smart technologies. The strong, muscular front end features typical LED daytime running light and a broad stance.

Other front details include large chrome-plated grille with 2 horizontal bars in between, below which is the front bumper and 2 fog lights on 2 sides; big rear view mirrors integrated with turn indicator and auto folding/opening feature. The rear end now leaves its boxy style behind and features a sportier, fastback, aerodynamically-friendly shape.

Ford has elevated the new Everest by equipping it with a premium feeling in term of both exterior and interior. The spacious cabin features endless premium and exquisitely crafted details, the most prominent being the stitches on dashboard and door panels.

The new Everest demonstrates Ford’s understanding of consumers’ needs and expectations as it is equipped with numerous electronic equipments while also meets the utility of a family model, including: electronically-adjusted sunroof and tailgate, 30 well-arranged item holders, multi-purpose power outlets, foldable 2nd row seats and electronically-adjusted 3rd row seats… thanks to which the model is able to meet the perfect balance between space for passengers and space for goods. The luggage compartment’s volume can reach 2.010 liters when all rear seats are folded.

The new Ford Everest is offered with 2 diesel engines: one being the Duratorq TDCi 3.2L 5-cylinder with max power at 147kW and max torque at 470Nm which is an upgrade from older versions (to include an exhaust gas recirculation system to reduce emission) and the 2nd being the Duratorq TDCi 2.2L 4-cylinder with max power at 118kW and max torque at 385Nm. Both are accompanied by a smart automatic transmission that can memorize drivers’ “favorite” driving style and adjust it accordingly in accelerating/decelerating, braking and throttling.

The new multi-terrain management system offers drivers 4 different modes: Normal, Snow/Mud/Grass terrain, Sand and finally Rugged terrain, with each mode features different transmission, wheel drive and traction control operation to adapt with the condition. Even on the most difficult-to-drive terrains, drivers can still rely on the differential lock and low-speed 4WD of Everest.

Other first-in-segment on Everest includes: cornering control that helps in high-speed cornering; the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and front cross-traffic warning that inform drivers of crossing vehicles/people in blind spot; parking assist…

The new SYNC2 infotainment system on Everest allows users to adjust the entertainment system as well as the air-conditioning system easier than ever. It also provides easy access to mobile devices thanks to the 8-inch touch screen. The 10-speaker audio system also provides memorable experience to both driver and passengers, especially its ability to deliver deep bass sound.
