HVN to win the 15th Safe Driving Contest in Japan

With a score of 2.826,5/3.000 points, Nguyen Anh Tuan from Honda Vietnam has won the 15^th Safe Driving Contest in the category of 400cc vehicle for national teams (excluding Japan).

The contest was held at the Center for Safe Driving, Suzuka Race Track, Japan on September 25^th and 26^th. The contest is an annual one organized by Honda Motors with people represent Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, India, Malaysia…

The contest has been held by Honda Motors since 1997 with the aim of improving safe driving skills of Honda staff which in turn will standardize and improve skills of Honda staff worldwide. Participating in the contest, Honda guide will have their teaching and driving skills tested in various exams including emergency braking, cornering and balancing.

The emergency braking test required guides to brake their vehicles at a predetermined speed with proper driving posture without locking the wheel. The cornering test at the same time required perfect driving skills of guides that helped them corner without touching the road markers and cones.

The balancing test on a narrow plank required perfect vehicle control of guides – an essential and decisive part of the contest.

Taking part in the contest, the Vietnam team had to compete with other excellent guides from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and Turkey. It was an invaluable chance for our guides to gain more experience from others in the region.

By winning the contest on the 400cc category, the Vietnam team has surprised all other countries joining in the contest this year. This achievement has proven the effort of Honda Vietnam in improving safe driving and training skills.

Nguyen Anh Tuan said after his achievement at the contest “This trip is an opportunity for us to learn from others, especially Japanese guides. Our team is not only trained well in term of technical skills but also in manners. This achievement is a great honor for our team as well as for Honda Vietnam. I’m really proud and will try my best harder in the future to prove that we are not only excellent guides but also full of responsibility for the safety of people.”
