[VIMS 2016] Porsche features great sportscar lineup

From October 26th to October 30th 2016 Porsche and fifteen official vehicle importers participate in the second Vietnam International Motor Show (VIMS) at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 500 m2 Porsche area that is located in the main hall of SECC, features a dynamic design which emphasizes the unmistakable DNA of the sports cars brand in an advanced standard. The presence of the latest models and appealing art performance that Porsche introduces to VIMS 2016 will satisfy the expectation of the renowned sports cars manufacturer’s admirers.

Porsche enthusiasts in Vietnam will contemplate the latest models during 5 days of the motor show: the new 911 Carrera which is known as the legend of Porsche with its iconic characters and innovation through generations; the new 911 Targa 4 featuring a unique classic-style design with a fully automatic roof system; the compact SUV Macan GTS with its harmonious combination of sportiness, performance and luxury; the SUV Cayenne in full convergence of excellent performance and sporty appearance knowing as the decathlete among sports cars and the 718 Boxster, which will be a perfect representative for purebred sportiness harmonize with eye-catching design. The Vietnam International Motor Show 2016 also witnesses for the first time the preview of the new Panamera Turbo – a Gran Turismo limousine able to conquer the public with its impressive sport performance and the advanced comfort.

Four new generation versions of Panamera models were introduced at the markets launch: the Panamera Turbo, the Panamera 4S, the Panamera 4S Diesel and most recently the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. The Panamera Turbo is equipped with 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine develops 404 kW (550 hp) at 5,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 770 Nm (between 1,960 – 4,500 rpm).

In March, Porsche has officially launched the new generation of 911 Carrera at Porsche Centre Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City. The 911 Carrera is equipped with 3.0-litre six-cylinder bi-turbocharged engine delivers an output of 370hp (272 kW) which is 20hp more than its predecessor, with max torque of 450 Nm. The seven-speed transmission Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) is also included and the Sport Chrono Package is an option.

Like all Porsche models that bear these three letters, the new GTS version of the Macan is inspired by motor racing. The Macan GTS can be recognised at first glance by exterior accents in black. A reengineered chassis, 20 hp more power than the Macan S and reinforced brakes supply the wherewithal. In terms of power and torque, its 360 hp and 500 Nm place the Macan GTS.

The new Cayenne is equipped with the typical naturally aspirated 3.0-litre V6 turbo changer engine that provides a power of 333 hp (245 kW) at 5,500 – 6,500 rpm; fuel consumption of the engine is more or less 10.4 litres/100 km in accordance with NEDC Standard (CO2 emission: 245 g/km). The model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds which is 0.2 seconds faster than the previous model. It has a similar top speed of 239 km/h like its predecessor. It can be said that the new Cayenne model offers more comprehensive standard functionalities than its predecessor. Besides the 8-speed Tiptronic S with Auto Start/Stop function, the new Cayenne is also equipped with coasting function, multifunction sports steering wheel with shift lever and automatic hatch.
