[VIMS 2016] 3 new models confirmed from Volkswagen

Representatives from Volkswagen Vietnam confirmed that the German brand will bring 3 spotlight vehicles to the Vietnam International Motor Show 2016 (VIMS 2016), including 2 new models and one legend reborn.

Despite having operated in Vietnam auto market for the last few years, Volkswagen has never taken part in any large-scale auto show in the country. Thus, this year’s VIMS marks the first time Volkswagen does so, and it does so in its own fashion. It is reported that Volkswagen will feature 3 vehicles at its booth this year: the new Volkswagen Jetta – a C-segment sedan, the family MPV Volkswagen Sharan and the legendary Beetle Dune with its 2017 version.

In the C-segment for sedan, Volkswagen Jetta seems to take the upper hand compared to its competitors thanks to its stability and European-quality performance. It proved its worth wonderly through crash and safety test with absolute 5-star score from NHTSA and earned IIHS’ Top Pick + with ease. The Vietnamese version of Jetta will feature 2 engine choices, either 1.4L or 1.8L.

Meanwhile, MPV in Vietnam in general has always been a remarkably successful segment for a long time. First debuted at Geneva Motor Show in 2015 March, Volkswagen Sharan was soon highly appreciated by both experts and consumers thanks to its practical abilities, especially its fuel consumption (5.5L/100 km). This will prove to be an essential part in Volkswagen’s marketing strategy for the MPV in Vietnam in the future.

Last but not least, Beetle has always been a legendary product line of Volkswagen in the past, and it will always be. The brand’s symbol is revived through the 2017 version and once again demonstrates luxurious and exquisite beauty – which have always been its unique orientation. New color variations, materials and design details are added for aesthetics effect. Meanwhile a series of advanced driving support technologies such as blind spot monitoring, collision warning… are also integrated into the little bug.

Along with the 3 models mentioned above, Volkswagen’s booth at VIMS 2016 will also feature currently available models of the brand in Vietnam, including Passat, Touareg, Polo, Estate, Tiguan and the special guest Scirocco GTS.
