Toyota to achieve sales breakthrough in July

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) just announced its July sales which reached 5.170 units, increased 14% (equal to 619 units) compared to the same month last year.

The North consumed 2.427 units (47%), the Centre consumed 693 units (13%), and the South consumed 2.050 units (40%). This is the highest sales volume since the beginning of the year, showing the efforts of the TMV and all Dealers nationwide in improving supply and delivery operation to serve customers better and better.

In July 2016, sales volume of passenger cars segment reached 3.312 units, increase 30% compared to the same month last year. A big contribution to this impressive growth is Vios with total sales volume reached 1.890 units, increased nearly 48% compared to same month of 2015, and increased 142% compared to June of 2016. This is the leading sales volume in passenger cars segment and also the highest sales volume of this car model since the first introduction to Vietnam market from 1997.

Besides, Corolla Altis with sales volume reached 653 units in July of 2016 also have growth at 30% compared to same month of last year, increased 93% compared to June of 2016. This is also the highest sales volume of this car model in the first half of 2016. In the third place is Camry with sales volume reached 372 units.

For commercial cars segment, in July 2016, the sales volume reached 1.858 units. In which, Fortuner has sales volume reached 903 units, increased 6% compared to same month of 2015. Especially, within only 2 weeks after launching, there have been total 517 All new Innova car units delivered to customers, raised total sales volume up to 702 Innova units in July 2016 (increased 27% compared to June of 2016).

For CBU vehicles imported and distributed by TMV (CBU), Yaris continue leading position in this segment with sales volume in July reached 397 units, increased 49% compared to same month last year. Besides, sale volumes of other CBU models are: Hilux 145 units, Hiace 40 units, Prado 60 units, Land Cruiser 8 units.

However, from 1st July, due to changes in tax policy for luxury car models with big cylinder capacity, sales volume of Lexus in Vietnam has been seriously affected. Thus, in July 2016, there have been 24 Lexus car units delivered to customers loving the luxury car brand.
