Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) officially announces, in Oct 2016, sales volume of Toyota vehicles reached 5.532 units, increased 27% compared to the same month last year, and achieves recorded highest sales volume up to now.

Two big contributions for the impressive sales are Vios with 2.148 units and Fortuner with 1.190 units. The South North consumed 2.604 units (47%), the North consumed 2.285 units (41%) and the Centre consumed 643 units (12%).

In October, passenger car segment of Toyota received warm welcome from customers with sales volume reached 3.250 units, impressively increased 51% compared to same period of last year. To achieve this sales volume, we have to mention about the contribution of the new Vios 2016 with 2.148 units sold, increased 83% compared to same month last year. This is also the month that Vios achieved its highest sales since first launching in 2003.

The second place belongs to Corolla Altis with sales volume in October reached 465 units, increased 35% compared to same period of last year. October is also a very special month when this 5-seat passenger car model has just celebrated its 50 years anniversary since its first launching in Oct 20th 1966. Corolla is now being produced in 13 countries, and over 1.3 million units are sold annually in more than 150 countries. With a record 44 million units sold globally to date, the Toyota Corolla has established itself as the world’s best-selling car of all-time. Thirdly, Camry has sales volume reached 409 units in Oct, increased 2%.

Tentatively giving 1st place for passenger car segment in Oct, sales volume of commercial car segment of Toyota reached 2.282 units, increased 3% compared to same period of 2015.

In which, taking the 1st place is Fortuner with sales volume reached 1.190 units, increased 47% compared to same period of last year. Besides, still due to difficulties in supply, Innova took the 2nd place with sales volume reached 880 units, in total 1.181 contracts signed within October.

For car models imported and distributed by TMV (CBU), sales volume reached: 228 units for Yaris, 86 units for Hilux, 20 units Hiace, 76 units Land Prado and 30 units Land Cruiser.

In October of 2016, in spite of the changes in tax policy for luxury car models with big cylinder capacity taking effects from 1st July, sales volume of Lexus reached 121 units, increased 169% compared to same period of 2015 and increased 35% compared to Sep 2016.

Recently, besides current car models, including LS460L, GS350, ES350, ES250, LX570, GX460, RX350, RX200t, NX200t; Lexus Vietnam introduced 04 car models with Turbo engine in Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) including GS Turbo, NX Turbo, RX Turbo, and all new RC Turbo.
