Ford VN to raise funds for victims of traffic accidents

All the money collected from the shirt sales will be used to assist the K0 Còi (No Horn) fund which assisted victims of traffic accidents and arranged activities that raised awareness about traffic culture.

Ford Vietnam has recently launched the campaign K0 Còi 2, a project within the Safe and Environmentally Friendly Driving Guidelines that helped raise traffic awareness and encouraged youths to think about a personal solution to build a safe traffic culture.

According to statistics from the National Traffic Safety Committee, 29.000 traffic accidents occurred in Vietnam in 2013, resulting in 9.156 dead and 29.441 wounded which averaged 25 dead per day. The group suffered the most from traffic accidents was the group with age ranging from 15-29. In addition to infrastructure problems, awareness of traffic participants has always been a major problem to be solved to minimize the number of traffic accidents.

“We hope to change bad habits of youths on road, which will result in a good and safer traffic culture in Vietnam”, said Mr Pham Van Dung – Ford Vietnam Director of Finance.

“The group of 15-29 years old people which accounts for a large proportion of time and number travelling will be the group with greatest importance in raising awareness of the community”

Recognizing the above reality, K0 Còi 2 focused on raising awareness of the community, especially the youth, through encouraging the offer of practical solutions for specific traffic situations in real life. The solutions were then demonstrated through art products produced by artists in collaborate with the project.

The facebook page K0 Còi (https://www.facebook.com/k0.coi?ref_type=bookmark) will provide specific traffic situations weekly, focusing on key topics such as red light crossing, speeding, using phone when driving, drunk driving… for the community to participate. Best answers according to the criteria of the program will be awarded and demonstrated humorously but meaningfully by arts from artist Thanh Phong.

All the money collected from the shirt sales will be used to assist the K0 Còi (No Horn) fund which assisted victims of traffic accidents and arranged activities that raised awareness about traffic culture.

One prominent activity of K0 Còi 2 is the collaboration between Ford Vietnam and Boo – a fashion company. The collection of caricature of artist Thanh Phong on traffic culture will be shown on the products of Boo and will be distributed nationwide on Boo’s store system.

K0 Còi 2 is the project that continues the success of K0 Còi 1 in 2012 of Ford Vietnam. The project at that time was carried out by young voluntarily group and has reached a great success among youth and the mass media. From the contest to create traffic-related yet modern idioms in Vietnam, Thanh Phong has created the K0 Còi eBook with over 40 caricatures, reaching 3.000 downloads and 16.000 fans.
