TMV set new sales record in 2016

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) officially announces that the sales volume by year of TMV in 2016 has set a new record with 57,036 units (excluding Lexus), increased 13% compared to 2015, raising the accumulated sales volume after over 20 years of Toyota in Vietnam up to 412,711 units.

In which, sales volume of the passenger cars segment reached 30,027 units, sales volume of the commercial vehicles segment reached 27,009 units, increased 11% and 17% compared to 2015.

2016 remarked recorded highest sales volume by year of Vios at 17,561 units, increased 28% compared to 2015, continuously be on top of auto best-seller list in the market and also the car model with highest sales volume in passenger car segment of Toyota. Accordingly, accumulated sales volume of this car model since the first launching reached 77,817 units.
Secondly, Corolla has sales volume reached 5,217 units, raising accumulated sales volume of this car model up to 61,092 units.

The 3rd place is Camry with sales volume reached 4,674 units. After 19 years since the first launching in Vietnam market from January 1998, up to now, this car model has accumulated sales volume up to 47,004 units.

For Innova in commercial vehicles segment of Toyota, in 2016, total sales volume of this car model reached 11,344 units, increased 14% compared to 2015. Also in commercial vehicles segment of Toyota, Fortuner also achieved very impressive total sales volume in 2016 with 11,585 units, increased 18% compared to last year.

For CBU models which distributed by TMV, total sales volume in 2016 of the segment reached 6,655 units, increased 8% compared to 2015. Sales volume of car models in the segment: Yaris 2,575 units, Hilux with 2,204 units, Hiace 396 units, Land Prado 1,011 units and Land Cruiser 469 units.

Only in December 2016, total sales volume of Toyota vehicles reached 6,333 units, increased 18% compared to same period of 2015. In which, the North consumed 2,623 units (41%), the Centre consumed 819 units (13%), and the South consumed 2,891 units (46%). This result is not only the recorded highest sales volume by month of TMV in 2016 but also highest sales volume by month ever of Toyota in Vietnam.

In Dec 2016, sales volume of passenger cars segment reached 3,403 units. In which, Vios continued taking the leading position with sales volume reached 2,131 units, impressively increased 63% compared to same period of 2015. Following are Corolla with 593 units and Camry with 479 units.
