[VMS 2016] Kia Quoris and its own segment

Thanks to the lack of luxurious cars (and brands) in display at this year’s VMS, the big-size Kia Quoris made its own spotlight.

Quoris (or K9/K900 in certain markets) is Kia’s luxurious big-size sedan aims to replace Opirus. Based on the platform of Hyundai Equus/Genesis, Quoris is the first of the South Korea brand to equip RWD.

Despite having a shorter length compared to Hyundai Equus, Kia Quoris features sportier design and better wheelbase. One of its prominent exterior detail is its front end, which includes the chrome-plated fox-eye grille and full LED headlight cluster (with 8 adaptive light bulbs, LED turn indicators and foglight). Dual separate exhaust pipes are chrome-plated on the back which, together with LED taillights, emit a modern, strong feeling.

Inside, Kia Quoris exudes a premium and elegant feeling by using a large amount of high-quality materials: wood, leather, metal… All side glasses are sound and heat-insulated. Side doors automatically close in case of passenger not closing it properly.

The driver cockpit feels like it is made from a combination of 2 Germany’s luxury auto brands: Mercedes-Benz and BMW, especially the seat adjustment controls or electronic gear changer. 3-zone climate control is standard while the rear seats have additional media control buttons on hand rest.

Kia Quoris in Vietnam is directly imported from South Korea, thus engine choice is quite limited for the sedan. The only choice that customers can select is a V6 3.8L Lambda GDI with max power at 246 kW (329 hp) which is accompanied by an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Safety features on Quoris are quite desirable as the SK brand prioritizes it with 9 airbags, 360-degree camera (including 4 different-angle cameras, PSG system with driving corner sensor and rear camera), ESP, AVSM, ASCC or blind-spot warning.

Kia Quoris is now available at Thaco Kia’s showrooms across the country. The sedan is priced at 2,748 million VND.
