Vietnam International Motor Show 2016 about to open

The 2nd Vietnam International Motor Show (VIMS 2016) will take place from October 26 to 30 in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring more than 150 car models of 18 premium car brands including Audi, Bentley, BMW, Land Rover, to name but a few.

It was announced at a press conference on September 20, held by the Vietnam Automobile Importers Association (VAIA), in association with C.I.S Vietnam and Le Bros Co.

Following the successful previous event, the 2016 motor show is considered the biggest ever expo and it is expected to welcome around 120,000 visitors.

A special feature of VIMS 2016 will be the announcement of Ibeacon – a totally new application allowing users to update detailed information on hi-end car brands and explore VIMS activities.

General Director of the official Audi importer in Vietnam Laurent Genet, who is also a representative of the organizing panel, held that visitors will be impressed by a lot of attractive motor models with guaranteed quality and reliable service. The show also revealed the official motor importers’ responsibility to contribute to the long-term development of the automobile industry of Vietnam.

VIMS 2016 will take place at a time when the auto market is seeing robust sales growth with more than 183,000 locally assembled and imported units finding buyers in the first eight months of the year, up 23% year-on-year.

Auto sales in all of 2016 are forecast to reach 260,000 units, a year-on-year rise of 10%.
