Sales volume of Toyota Vietnam increased steadily despite tax changes

With new special comsumption tax (SCT) policy will be applied from 1^st July 2016, many customers seems to wait longer, but in May 2016, the total sales volume of Toyota vehicles increased steadily.

The total Toyota vehicles’ sales volume in May reached 4.277 units, increased by 10% (about 397 units) in comparing to the same period last year. In which, the North consumed 1.806 units (42%), the South consumed 1.929 units (45%), and the Centre consumed 542 units (13%).

In May, sales volume of passenger cars segment reached 1.990 units (decreased 4% in comparing to 2015), in which, Vios has been leading with 1.066 units sold out, increased 23% in comparing to last year, and accounted for 54% share in its segment of Toyota vehicles. After Vios, sales volumes of Camry and Corolla Altis have reached 385 units and 315 units correspondingly.

For commercial vehicles segment, in May 2016, total sales volume reached 2.287 units, increased by 27% in comparing to the same month in 2015. In this month, Fortuner has taken the lead in its segment with total sales reached 1.025 units, increased over 31%, then Innova with total sales at 822 units, increased 9%.

In May, For vehicles imported and distributed by TMV (CBU), almost all of models have good growth in high-level in comparing to same period last year, with total sales volume reached 664 units, increased by 45%. Yaris model continue leading position in this segment with sales volume reached 224 units, increased 20%. Besides, sale volumes of other CBU models are: Hilux 194 units, Land Prado 113 units, Land Cruiser 94 units, Hiace 39 units.

In May 2016, Lexus Vietnam achieved highest sales in 5 months of 2016 with total 269 Lexus cars delivered to customers, increased 136% incomparing to same period last year and increased 77% incomparing to April 2016. A big contribution to this is the launching of RX model from the beginning of this year and the premium urban sportgear NX200t after 1 year of launching. So, accumulated sales in the first 5 months of 2016 of Lexus in Vietnam reached 929 car units, increased 92% incomparing to same period of 2015.
