TMV retains growth momentum in March

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) just officially announces, in March 2016, sales volume of Toyota vehicles reached 4.693 units, increased 25% (equal to 951 units) compared to the same month last year and nearly doubled (98%) compared to February 2016.

Specifically, the North consumed 2.133 units (45%), the South consumed 1.960 units (42%), and the Centre consumed 600 units (13%). The first quarter of 2016 ended with 12.061 Toyota units delivered to customer, increased 11% compared to same period in 2015. This is an impressive start for one new year of TMV in Vietnam automobile market.

In March, sales volume of passenger cars segment reached 2.264 units, increase 19% compared to the same month last year. In which, Vios continued taking the leading position in sales volume of TMV car models with 1.332 units, increased 13% as well as accounted for nearly 60% in total sales of TMV in passenger cars segment. Besides, Camry also contribute to the growth of passenger car segment with sales volume reached 440 units, increased 313 units compared to same month last year. So, in this segment, there are total 6.035 Toyota passenger car units being delivered to customer in the first quarter of 2016, keep balance compared to same period last year.

For commercial vehicles segment, the sales volume reached 2.429 units, increase 32% compared to March 2015. Especially, Innova achieved high growth at 52% compared to same month in 2015 with 1.180 units, continue keep leading position in commercial vehicles segment. Fortuner’s sales volume reached 928 units, increased 8% compared to same period in 2015. Impressive sales in Mar helps to bring total sales of Toyota commercial vehicles segment in the first quarter up to 6.026 units, increased 24% compared to same period last year.

In Mar, almost all CBU vehicles imported and distributed by TMV has good growth compared to same period last year. The all new Hilux 2015 is still maintaining its sales volume with 209 units. Besides, sale volumes of other CBU models are: Yaris 204 units, Hiace 23 units, Prado 63 units, Land Cruiser 26 units.

Meanwhile, there were 138 cars delivered to customers in country wide, increased 64% compared to same period last year. Thus, in the first quarter of 2016, there were total 508 Lexus car units to be delivered to customer, increased 82% compared to same period in 2015; a big contribution to this is the launching of RX model from the beginning of January.
